The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association founded the month of recognition in 1927 to draw attention to the role of American Speech-Language-Hearing Association members in providing life-altering treatments for those in need.1 The theme for Better Hearing and Speech Month 2022 is “Connecting People.”
Hearing, voice, speech, and language disorders exact a far-reaching toll on public health and individual well-being. At least 46 million people in the U.S. have hearing or other communication disorders that affect how they engage with their environments.2 These disorders can occur at any age and in all ethnic and socioeconomic groups.2 With this year’s theme, the goal is to connect those affected with support and treatment options.

Creating a marketing campaign for your practice centered on Better Speech and Hearing Month promotes a significant cause while reminding everyone of the vital role that hearing plays in overall well-being.
